English Language Learners
The English Language Learners (ELL) program at English International School of Bucharest is designed to assist non-native English speakers to function in the general education classroom.
As an international school in Bucharest, EISB welcomes students from around the world. The ELL program is available for students in 1st to 12th grades as space permits. Any non-native English-speaking student applying to EISB must be evaluated in the three areas of English proficiency:
● Reading comprehension
● Writing
● Oral aptitude
After the evaluation is complete, if a student is considered non-fluent in any of those areas, he/she is eligible to receive ELL services. A EISB administrator will work with an ELL instructor to determine grade and class placement of the student. ELL support is limited, due to current student needs.
